Comr. Chidi who made this known during his maiden press address after assuming the leadership of the apex students’ body also thank the senate officers of NANS and the entire Senators (SUG Presidents) for the confidence reposed in him.

“On behalf of the entire Nigerian Students both at home and in the Diaspora, I humbly and most respectfully thank the senate officers of NANS and the entire Senators (SUG Presidents) for the confidence reposed on me to lead the great students of Nigeria in a time like this when the hopes of the students are hanging on a gallow.

“It is no news that Nigerian Students are tired of staying at home following the outbreak of the COVID-19 and the prolonged strike by ASUU. I will work together with the NAUS, NAPS, NANCES and all state students associations, we will immediately have an interface with ASUU and Federal Government to immediately end the Strike so that students can return to their classrooms.

“I deeply feel the pains and sufferings of the students who are wondering and thinking of where they will get the money to pay their school/hostel fees and renew their house rents.

“Also, my heart goes out to the students whom overtime have been pushed to the wall and continuously brutalized by men of the NPF, hence, I lend my voice to call on the NPF high command to as a matter of urgency reform the force to build public confidence.

“I passionately assure Nigerian students that the days of commercialization of students’ struggles are over and I am committed to the quick transition of power to Zone D without waste of time.

“May I use the opportunity to let the students know that their pains are my pains and together with my executives we will restore their lost hope. I thank my fellow executives for their support, the Zonal Coordinators, the JCC Chairmen, and the resilient stakeholders of our noble association.

“This is indeed a call to service and I promise to work well with every relevant authority to make sure a new government comes on board mid-November as recommended by the senate. While accepting the responsibility I thank you and God bless you all.” He concluded

Recall that the former President of NANS Comrade Danielson Bamidele Akpan was earlier today impeached by the Senate Arm of the Association at an emergency Senate meeting.

Bamidele was impeached over incompetence, misappropriation of fund, corruption, elongation of tenure, disregard for NANS Charter of Demand, and insensitivity to the plight of Nigerian Students by the Senate of NANS as the Vice President, Chidi Ilogebe was sworn in as new NANS President.
