Another ABU Team Developed ICU ventilator & 4-in-1 automatic Hand sanitizing Machine.
Just weeks after the ABU community and Nigeria celebrated the great feet of Dalhatu Usman, a 200-Level student of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria who designed and developed a world-class ventilator for the fight against COVID-19, another ABU team has done it again.
A team of ABU engineers has designed and developed an ICU ventilator and a 4-in-1 automatic hand sanitizing machine at the Equipment maintenance and development center, ABU Zaria.
The news was disclosed by Engr Yusuf Sule Danbatta, himself a part of the team. Other members include Engr Yau Mukhtar, Engr Auwal, Engr Abdullahi, Engr Zubair, Dr. Engr Kaisan Muhammad Usman Nasiru Abdullahi Tanko and Engr. Dr. Kabir Ahmad.
The innovation team was drawn from the Faculty of Engineering, Biomedical engineering ABUTH, ABU distance learning center, and EMDC.

In his words “Alhamdulillah, today we finalized the design and development of an ICU ventilator and a 4-in-1 automatic hand sanitizing machine at Equipment maintenance and development center ABU Zaria.
“I doff my hat to the ABU Zaria innovation team with members from the Faculty of Engineering, Biomedical engineering ABUTH, ABU distance learning center, and EMDC.

Recalled that Dalhatu Usman, a 20-year-old young ABU undergraduate, had designed and produced a manual ventilator to be used in treating coronavirus patients. He later transformed his emergency ventilator idea into a portable E-vent automatic ventilator.

The Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State had pledged the support of his administration to the young innovator and others from the state to achieve their dreams and obtain the patent to produce more for the world.
Just few days ago, the Kaduna State ICT Hub granted financial resources for the production of ‘sophisticated’ ventilators whose prototype was fabricated by Dalhatu Usman.
The Chief Executive Officer of KAD ICT Hub, Engr. Yusuf Bashir said the firm provided the fund and resources to encourage the young inventor and tackle the menace of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
