Muminat Musa Agaka: The Girl Who Broke the 38yrs Record in Sociology at ABU Zaria
Muminat Musa Agaka, a young woman in her early twenties has broken a 38 years record in the Department of Sociology, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria as she graduates as the best Student with a First Class (Honours) Degree for the 2020/2021 Academic Session.
Muminat Musa who hails from Kwara State, North Central Nigeria is a definition of “Beauty and Brain” as her beautiful appearance did not deter her from achieving academic excellence in a Department that graduating with a First Class was almost becoming a thing of history.
Apart from her academic engagement, Muminah is a serial entrepreneur and also a creative artist who drew Hennah patterns as a side hustle.
The young woman who was raised by a single mother did not allow her family disposition, being an orphan to be a roadblock to her academic excellence but saw it as an opportunity to carve out a bright future for herself, her family, and Nigeria as a whole.
Her feat will surely serve as a motivation to other young women in institutions of higher learning to dedicate more time to their studies and to write their names in gold.
Well-wishers have since trooped to her timeline and different blogging sites all over Nigeria to extend their congratulatory messages and further pray for a good job and greater opportunities for her.

Celebrating the wonderful achievement, a Facebook user by the name of Theorist Ologo wrote: “I am extremely happy. But my happiness is not without being emotional because we lost her father a long time ago, Mr. Musa Agaka. He happened to be our vice principal, literature, and English teacher during my years in secondary school.
“Anybody who knows him, who knows ICOHS, a school established by IEDPU will be able to say so many good things about him. I’m glad to have had the opportunity to guide Muminat as she was handed to me by her single mother. During her A’Level Coaching Classes in my school, she was one of my best students. Therefore, I am not surprised she bagged first class in the University.
“She is simply a manifestation of the good seeds her father sown. This indeed is another lesson for all of us, what you sow, you shall reap. He taught us perfectly and we had the privilege to teach his daughter well too. He is not just a teacher, he is a mentor. He mentored some of us from secondary school to the university. However, I will appreciate it more if everyone can come together to help Muminat.
“She did not only needs a scholarship for her Master’s degree, but also the HENNA BUSINESS she established ever before coming to LANKOTHEORY. First-class is not enough, Muminat is highly skilled- capable of making Sudanese henna, bridal henna, henna tattoo, regular henna, and halal gift. She has a business plan capable of employing at least 50 persons.
“I, therefore, call on the government of Kwara State, the government of Nigeria, the ministry of education in Nigeria, my friend’s home, and abroad and other bodies to please help her in achieving her dreams”.
