Mahadi Abuhuraira’s journey from humble beginnings to academic excellence is nothing short of remarkable. Born on 23rd June 1996 to Late Mal Abuhuraira Muhammad and Hajia Amina Muhammad Ladan in Zaria Local Government of Kaduna State, Mahadi faced numerous challenges and obstacles on his path to success.

Growing up with a single parent (mum), he lost his father at a tender age and had limited access to resources and opportunities. However, Mahadi’s determination and unwavering thirst for knowledge propelled him forward. Despite the odds stacked against him, he displayed exceptional academic prowess and seriousness from a young age.

The young Mahadi Abuhuraira began his educational journey at Kurna Fagge, Kano state, where he did his nursery classes at Magdom Nursery and primary school (not sure if the school still maintains the name), he studied there up to nursey two and then came the shocking death of his Father (RIP). This forces the family to relocate to Bichi Lga where his mother worked as a teacher at the staff school FCE(T) Bichi.

His teachers recognized his potential and encouraged him to work hard. With the support of his mum and community, Mahadi continued on his educational journey, determined to make a difference not only for himself but also for his family and community.

Muhammad Amin who remains his guardian to date. At Zaria, he was enrolled at Sunnantullahi Nur. & Pri School Ang. Katika, where he completed primary school in 2008 and subsequently Secondary school at the same School in 2013.

For economic reasons, the young lad wasn’t opportune to write the UTME immediately and as such joined a Part-time NCE program at Federal College of Education Zaria where he studied Mathematics/Computer from 2013 – 2017 and graduated with 13 points (B – Maths, A – Computer and B – Education). He enrolled for the UTME same year (2017) and scored 292.

Mahadi’s hard work and dedication paid off when he gained admission the same year to study Computer Science at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, one of Nigeria’s prestigious institutions. From the very beginning, he stood out among his peers, displaying an insatiable curiosity and a relentless pursuit of excellence. His lectures were astounded by his intellectual capabilities and soon realized that they were dealing with an extraordinary talent.

While in ABU, mahadi experienced some of the longest ASUU strikes in recent memory and the global lockdown of COVID-19 which kept him at home and made him spend more years in school than required. He finally completed his program in November 2023.

Throughout his academic career at ABU, Mahadi consistently achieved outstanding results, earning top grades in all his courses. His exemplary work ethic, coupled with his genuine passion for learning, propelled him to the top of his class.
