Please tell us about yourself? Who is Lamusi Joseph?

My name is Lamusi Joseph, I’m 29years old. I’m the fourth born from the family of six. I am a graduate of a known prestigious university; Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, I graduated from the faculty of agriculture. I will describe myself as energetic and resourceful, goal getter and most importantly a fast learner.

How does it feel to be the best graduating student?

Honestly when I heard the news I was filled with mixed emotions, I will say I was and I’m extremely happy because the journey of academic have not quite been easy but I believed I could so I did. As anything worth doing at all is worth doing well.

What challenges did you face during your academic journey?

Honestly speaking I faced quite a lot of challenges such as strikes, corona pandemic and financial instability which led to a lot of delay and setbacks but I kept on pushing so as to achieve my set goal.

How did you manage your time and maintain academic excellence?

I tried as much as possible to ensure that my personal activities does not interfere with my time of study as striving for academic excellence was part of the ultimate goal.

What do you attribute your success to?

I will confidently say hard work, commitment, optimism and zeal to achieve that which I set to get.

How do you plan to utilize your education and skills in the future?

As a graduate in the field of agriculture I plan to make use of my knowledge and skills to make impact in the agricultural sector, as agriculture is all known to be the future and also to pursue further for more knowledge and experience.

Do you engage in extracurricular activities? How do you handle that and academics?

Yes I did, as a student I was a member of several associations (ASSAN-welfare director; event management -SRC etc.) and also an entrepreneur of which I’m also into buying and selling, I ensured that there is a strike balance between the two, since they both create an avenue for skills and success.

What advice do you have for other students aspiring to achieve similar success?

I believe that with great achievements and excellent performance comes with great responsibility therefore, sacrifice is an essential tool for success hence, commitment, hard-work, consistency and self determination is the key.
