ABU Appoints Mal Gambo Ibrahim Mukhtar As Acting Bursar
Malam Gambo Ibrahim Mukhtar has been appointed as acting Bursar for Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Until his appointment, Gambo was the institution’s Deputy Bursar in charge of Budget and Expenditure Control.
The appointment, which is in recognition of his commitment to work and leadership qualities, will take effect from today Thursday, 1st July, 2021.
Gambo replaces Malam Yahaya Alhaji Hassan whose tenure as Bursar expired on Tuesday, 29th June, 2021.
The appointment is for a period of six months or when a substantive Bursar is appointment, whichever comes earlier.
Born in Kano City, Kano Municipal Council, Kano State, on September 23, 1960, Gambo joined the services of the University in 1995 as Accountant, Accounts Payables Unit.
He was at different times Finance Officer at the Institute of Administration, Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR), and National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI) all in Ahmadu Bello University.
Gambo is a member of many professional bodies relevant to his career such as the Nigerian Institute of Management; and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
He is also Fellow, Chartered Institute of Commerce; Associate Member, Institute of Taxation of Nigeria; and Member, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.
Malam Gambo Ibrahim Mukhtar is the Acting Bursar attended several conferences workshops and trainings. Gambo is married and has children.
