ABU, University of Edinburgh work out modalities for joint degree program

Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, have raised a high-powered committee to work out modalities for the joint award of degrees by both institutions and to develop capacity development programs that would foster the development of staff and students.

This development is the outcome of the visit to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, by the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Kabiru Bala along with the Director, Division of Agricultural Colleges (DAC), Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Musa Abdullahi Mahadi.

While there, Prof. Bala had a joint meeting with Prof. Geoff Simm, Director of, the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems; Prof. Karen Smyth, Director of, the Centre for Supporting Evidence-Based Interventions in Livestock; and Dr. Oluyinka Opoola of Centre for Tropical Livestock Genetics and Health.

Two other personalities on the Vice-Chancellor’s entourage were Dr. Usman Ibrahim and Dr. Emmanuel Opoola all from the Division of Agricultural Colleges (DAC), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
