Immediate past Provost of FCE Zaria Dr Abdullahi Ango Ladan has died
The immediate past Provost of Federal College of Education (FCE) Zaria, Dr. Abdullahi Ango Ladan has died after a brief illness according to family sources.
Ladan died in the early hours of Monday and his janaza (funeral prayers) was held 2:30pm earlier today at his residence in Unguwan Iya, Zaria city.
Born in Zaria, Kaduna State on January 1, 1961, Dr Ladan attended L.E.A. Primary School Zangon Kataf from 1970-1975, Kagoro Teachers College from 1975 – 1980, and Advanced Teachers College (ATC), now FCE Zaria, from 1982 – 1985.
He had his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees as well as Ph.D. at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria between 1988 and 2005.
Dr Ladan was February 4, 2017, appointed the provost of FCE Zaria. Before his appointment, he was at the Department of Psychology, School of Education, F.C.E., Zaria.
There was uncertainty in FCE Zaria over the appointment of a provost after the expiration of Dr Ladan’s tenure on 4th February, 2021.
In the absence of formal communication reappointing Dr. Ladan for a second term, the Deputy Provost of the college, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, assumed the duties of the provost in an acting capacity.
