1st USDGs Summit: Students to Receive Transport Subsidy

As part of efforts to ensure that students benefit from the upcoming first Universities Sustainable Development goals Summit (USDGs Summit) scheduled to hold in Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria from 27th February to 1st March 2020, students attending the summit will be given transport subsidy to facilitate their attendance.

In a statement by the Directorate of University Advancement, ABU Zaria which cited the center for advanced learning – CeldalNigeria, the Subsidy is courtesy of The development Research and Projects Centre – DRPCNG, an intermediary non-profit organization established with a mission to build organizational and technical capacity within civil society and government to work together in inclusive development model in which felt needs of the vulnerable and excluded are addressed. 

1st USDGs Summit

The first Universities Sustainable Development goals Summit 2020 (USDGs Summit) is the brainchild of The Centre for Development and Advanced Learning. A Non-Governmental Organisation that exists to promote young people with the practical and applicable knowledge tailored around the Sustainable Development Goals.

In conjunction with Connected Development [CODE] a non-government organization [NGO] whose mission is to empower marginalized communities in Africa.

The event expected to be the largest gathering of university students in Nigeria to tackle the issues of Sustainable Development Goals will feature; Panel discussions, Paper Presentations, Workshops, Awards, Learning about the 17 SDGs and Agenda2030, etc

The Directorate of University Advancement, ABU Zaria on behalf of the University community thank The development Research and Projects Centre – DRPCNG for their generous donation to the summit as well as the Centre for Development and Advanced Learning CendalNigeria and Connected Development (CODE) for bringing this to ABU Zaria first.
