Power And Water Wastages: ABU Mgt sets 7 Golden Rules for University Community.
In a bid to curb power and water supply wastages, the management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria has announced seven Golden rules for all members of the university community.
In a special bulletin issued on Tuesday, 14th July 2020, the university management strongly warned that anyone who goes against the rules will be ejected when caught.

According to the university management, below are the “desirable actions that could cut power and water supply wastages.”
Rule #1: Before leaving the office, it should be ensured that all electrical appliances are switched ofF.
Rule #2: Security personnel should switch off security lights at 5:00am and switch them on by 6:30pm daily.
Rule #3: Residents of University quarters are also advised to switch off their security lights by 6:00am and switch them on by 6:00pm.
Rule #4: Residents of University quarters who bypass electricity prepaid meters would be ejected from their quarters when they are caught.
Rule #5: The use of electricity for cold rooms and ice-making is prohibited. Offenders would be ejected when caught.
Rule #6: Residents of University quarters should always close their water tanks when full or install a ball valve that would automatically control the supply and overflow of the tanks when full
Rule #7: Private and unofficial jobs that involve the use of electricity in departmental workshops are prohibited. Heads of the Department would be held accountable. Defaulters will face disciplinary procedures.
