ABU recharge card seller, Wife receives support to start a business

It all began with the wonderful thinking and big heart of humanity’s advocate, Abdullahi O Haruna Haruspice when he wrote passionately about how Malam Yakubu, a Sociology graduate from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has been eking out a living through the sale of recharge cards in front of Suleiman hall. Though malam Yakubu has not gathered much money throughout his more than 20 years of selling recharge cards, he’s always at hand to help students that come across him.
As people read Abdullahi’s passionate piece about malam Yakubu, the humanity in us took over and appeal for monies to resettle malam Yakubu gained traction. Nigerians from all walks of life, irrespective of faith or tribe came together and freely donated to the noble course. Below is a list of Nigerians who donated:

After the realization of the above money, I visited Malam Yakubu to ask which business he can do apart from selling recharge cards. He enthusiastically told me if he has some little capital, he’ll go into the business of phone assesories which according to him gives high ROI.

So, after deliberations with Abdullah Haruna O. Haruspice, ita was agreed that both malam Yakubu, His new wife and new home should be energised with the money realised. As such, malam Yakubu was given ₦100, 000.00 to go into the business of phone assesories and recharge cards.
His new wife was given the sum of ₦50, 000. 00 to engage in her own personal business. Also, a 50KG bag of rice, a cartoon of spaghetti, a carton of macaroni, vegetable oil, palm oil, a bag of maize, a package of bathing soap and a package of laundry soap were bought and donated to energise malam Yakubu’s home.
Therefore, from Haruspice and me, we say thank you to all of you that donated and we pray may you never lack in your lives. Thank you all.
