Greatest Abusites! Where ever you are, stand tall in pride and gait, that you are great perpetually is not your fault, it is the lord’s doing. You didn’t foist your greatness on yourselves, it came from long years of discipline. A child of a hero enjoys the reverence of heroism.

That you were admitted into the most sought after university in Nigeria is not your fault, it is just natural to feel greatness after scaling the hurdles of JAMB, merit consideration, competitve quota placement.

Greatest Abusites

Why won’t you be great when you spent six months in just a semester, attending classes that ends 6pm everyday! And just when you are to retire for the day, the fear of a test jolt you up and in tail between legs, you find yourself again in the classroom for TDB! (Till Day Break). That is the usual life of an Abusite on campus. He spends all time for his studies.

It would be criminal not to feel the worth of your effort. In ABU, we were indoctrinated in the absolute belief that we are leaders, that we are thinkers, that we are solution finders, that we are worthy citizens. That is why as students, we greet and treat ourselves as nobles, as prestigious citizens and worthy ambassadors. If you attended ABU zaria and still manifest foolhardiness, idiocy and indecorous antics, then your case is tragically irredeemable. Every abusite is trained to be a leader of his environment.

A school that frown at indoleence, indiscipline and mediocrity would always produce great alumni. You can’t cheat in ABU and be pardoned, I have on my finger tips the number of classmates who got expelled because they were caught in malpractices. There is never a softlanding for vices in ABU Zaria. Lecturers who lower their creed by altering their status are shown the way out. In ABU Zaria, there are no sacred cows.

Of the Greatest Abusites!

You feel great whenever you remember the worthiness of life as a student. It’s in ABU, that a lady could walk 3:00am from class to her hostel without any slight to her safety. The dignity of women are respected in ABU, male students could sacrifice their comfort for the ladies.

I remember giving my jacket to a classmate who came to an early morning class ill, she was shivering from the blistering cold. I saw her from afar gritting her teeth. That was when I pulled over my jacket for her. However, it was the lady that brought food for me at the sick Bay the next day because I fell to the biting cold as I came down with pneumonia as a result of exposing my body to cold.

It is in ABU that everyone’s right is respected and protected. I didn’t for once witness any violent confrontation between students. There are mechanisms for resolving conflict in ABU. The day a student raises his or her hands on anyone that day ends your academic voyage in ABU zaria. Respect for rights is very paramount in Zaria.

Why wouldn’t I be proud that I graduated from a university where cultism is only a reference in books? Where tribalism is not an issue. Where religious prejudices are only bandied by the weak. ABU Zaria provided equal platform for everyone. Even though located in the heart of North, it parades the most accommodating ambience for divergent orientations.

It’s easier to learn Igbo in Zaria than Hausa, almost every one is represented in the staff and students cadre of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. It is even easier for a christian student to win the students union government than a muslim student. Sentiments does not define considerations in ABU Zaria, articulation and brilliance does.

If you want to be great in mind and not just material greatness, come to ABU, pick a form for either a second or first degree. From that day, you assume greatness. It is not pride but a reality of who you are. ABU Zaria is a cult circle for excellence and discipline.

The trending onslaught against Ahmadu Bello University Zaria by beefing folks won’t take a fur from us. We are great first before we are weak. Not every baked bread come out fresh, that we have some Abusites denigrating the ABU brand is not an aberration, it is natural to have a non conformist in every situation. Don’t use the failings of a negligible few to cast aspersions on the immortality of the great Ahmadu Bello University where tribes, class and status are left at the main gate.

Past glories are part of our greatness, present exploits define our greatness and tomorrow’s manifestations would still make us great. Whether past, today or tomorrow, there is sparkling greatness in ABU Zaria… and that is why

An ABU graduate is Naturally ahead’,

That is the reason

An Abusite is a potential leader

That is why,

‘An Abusite is a proud alumnus ‘.

That is why

‘An Abusite is a nationalist, a patriot, a leader’

It is not pride but who we are….. take it or take a dive into the embracing hug of writing another JAMB.

Greatly musing..
