Danhodi Empowerment Foundation donates ECG machine to ABU

Danhodi Empowerment Foundation, a non-profit and non-political organization committed to improving the quality of life for the disadvantaged Nigerians, today donated an electrocardiography machine to Ahmadu Bello University.

The medical equipment better known as ECG machine valued at N750,000 is to be used specifically for teaching purposes at the Department of Human Physiology, College of Medical Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Presenting the machine to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabir Bala, on behalf of the founder of the foundation, Ghali Musa Danhodi, the Director, Directorate of University Advancement, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, described the donor as a friend of the University.

Prof. Ibrahim said the Danhodi Empowerment Foundation was committed to, among others, enhance the development of youth education as well as create opportunities for the youths in capacity building, economic development activities, and exposures at all levels.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabir Bala, who later handed over the machine to the Provost, College of Medical Sciences, Prof. Abdullahi Jibrin Randawa, for onward transmission to the Faculty of Human Physiology, thanked the donor for the gesture.

“Let me thank most sincerely the foundation for the gesture; I believe the donation of this important machine is handy, and I want to assure you that we will make the best use of it”, he said.

Prof. Bala disclosed that priority attention would be given to the College of Medical Sciences with a view to accomplishing the purpose for which it was established.

“The College is very big, and therefore, needs special attention; we need to have a clear vision for the College for its sustainability; we must look for all our alumni both in Nigeria and in the diaspora to help the College and the University as a whole”, Prof. Bala also said.

Those who witnessed the donation of the machine at the Vice-Chancellor’s office included the Provost, College of Medical Sciences, Prof. Abdullahi Jibrin Randawa; Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Science, Prof. Aliyu Mohammed; Head, Department of Human Physiology, Dr. Maryam Dewu; and Head, Alumni Relations, Directorate of University Advancement, Malam Bashir Munir.
