ABU students on the joint degree program in railway engineering return from China [Update]
The first set of students from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria flown to China in 2018 to study railway engineering at Central South University (CSU) under 3+2 joint degree program have returned to Nigeria after the successful completion of studies.
According to the ABU directorate of University Advancement, the students were flown back to Nigeria today onboard Air Peace. The plane landed at 2:32am at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
On arrival, the students were received by the Director, Directorate of University Advancement, Prof Ahmed Doko Ibrahim; Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof Ismail Abubakar; and Ag. Director, Public Affairs Directorate, Malam Auwalu Umar.

All the students, who looked hale and hearty, expressed immense gratitude to Ahmadu Bello University and the Chinese government for the program which is believed to be the first of its kind in Nigeria.
The Abusites earlier in June reported that the first batch of 300L ABU engineering students under the “3+2 program” had successfully completed their studies with excellent results.
The 45 ABU students and 13 academic staff all from the Faculty of Engineering were flown to China for the joint Bachelor’s degree program in engineering at Central South University (CSU), Changsha in September 2018.
