This decision was taken at the ASUU NEC meeting of march 7th – 8th, 2020 which took place at the Enugu state university of science and technology (ESUT), Enugu state

You may recall that the issue which forced the union to take this decision was the failure of the federal government To fulfill its promises as agreed in the ASUU/FGN 2009 agreement, 2013 memorandum of understanding (MoU), the 2017 and 2019 memorandum of action (MoA), none payment of February 2020 salary, check-off dues, and other deductions.

The union, therefore, required that you allow it’s members in this branch to discharge their civic rights to industrial action without victimization on the basis of their participation in the current strike.

In the pursuance of our legitimate goal in these coming days, the campus will witness the absence of all academic activities. In addition, it is the expectation of the union that you will understand and not in any way undermine the collective wishes of our members and union the strike
