Scholar Adam Alfulany Bags International Award on Arabic Literature
A renowned Nigerian linguistic scholar and Abusite, Sheikh Adam Yahaya AlFulany, has bagged an International Award for Creative Writing in Arabic literature at an event in Cairo, Egypt.
The Founder of Darul Hijra Arabic and Islamic School in Kano, AlFulany, was among the recipients of awards of excellence at the annual Hamsa International Festival for Arts and Literature.
The festival recognises the best of Arabic poetry, short story, long story, script, monologue, films, painting and photography.
A prolific writer, Alfulany is one of the most prominent contemporary Nigerian Arabic writers, with rich intellectual and literary abilities.
He has authored several books on psychology, literature/novel, research critique, history, Islamic education and Sufism.
Among his books on art and literature are The Shepherd (Raai Al-Ganam); The People of Takror (Ahl Al-Takror); On the Road (Ala Al-Tariq); and The Soul University (Jamiah Alarwah).
Other books written by him are The Unseen in the lights of Science and Religion (Al-Gaibiyyat ala Dawi Al-Ilm was Al-Deen); Humans Mission on the Surface of the Earth (Muhimmah Al-Insan Ala Sath Al-Ard); The Struggle of These Generations on Issues of Islam (Sira Al-Ajyal fi Qadaya Al-Islam); and A Dialogue with Hadith Scholars (Hadithun maa Ulama Al-Hadith), among others.

Born on January 30, 1963, Yahaya Al-Fulany attended Darul Ulum Secondary School, in Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Markaz Centre for Arabic Studies, in Agege, Lagos State.
He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Arabic Literatures from Bayero University Kano (BUK) in 1992, and Masters of Arts in International Relations in 1994, from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.
A recipient of an ‘Award of Excellence in Islamic and Arabic Authorship’ from Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies in 1992, AlFulany has attended and delivered papers at International Conferences on Islamic Studies and Arabic Language.
