Portrait of Sir Ahmadu Bello Designed by ABU Student Sold for N800,000
A portrait of the former Premier of Northern Nigeria and founder of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Sir Ahmadu Bello (the Sardauna of Sokoto) has been auctioned for 800,000 naira in Zaria.
The glass portrait designed by comrade Abubakar Sani Abdullahi, the President of the society of glass and silicate technology students was launched during a workshop titled “A WALK TO PROFESSIONALISM” which was organized by the faculty of Environmental Design on 14th August 2021.
The portrait was unleashed by the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello, Prof. Kabir Bala, and sold through bidding, where the Managing Director Brains and Hammers Construction Company Abuja emerged as the highest bidder at N800,000.

This is a breakthrough to the Society of Glass and Silicate Technology Students ABU Zaria as the Glass Portrait is the highest bidding Portrait in the History of the University.
Speaking to The Abusites, Comr. Abubakar Sani Abdullahi dedicated his work to his parents who he said stood firmly in seeing him progress and succeed in all ramifications saying, “their prayers and supports shall never be forgotten and will always be appreciated.”
He equally appreciates the co-host of the program, Comr. Muhammad Mujitapha Musa for allowing him to display his talent, “I’m extremely grateful.”
