In a short statement issued by Professor Paul Mamza, the National President of the Polymer Institute of Nigeria, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Board of Directors, the National Executive Council and all the professional members,
He called for more collaborations with the new vice-chancellor given his keen interest in the Institute during his tenure as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Admin).
Prof. Paul Mamza stated that With the wealth of knowledge and experience of Prof Kabir Bala, himself and the institute are very optimistic that he will move the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria to the highest heights.

“on his assumption of the mantle of leadership as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University with effect from 1st May 2020.
“It is on record that the Ahmadu Bello University was the first University in Nigeria to get registered with the Polymer Institute of Nigeria as a corporate member which was followed closely by Bayero University, Kano.
“The Ahmadu Bello University has maintained a cordial relationship with the Institute by paying all its dues and participating actively in our activities.
“I expected more collaborations with you given your keen interest in the Institute during your tenure as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Admin).
“With your wealth of knowledge and experience, I am optimistic that you will move the Ahmadu Bello University to the highest heights.
Prof. Paul Mamza prayed to the Almighty God to guide the new vice-chancellor on the right path to reposition back the University to its glorious past.
Mamza is a Professor of Polymer Science and Technology in the Ahmadu Bello University’s Department of Chemistry. He was until this election in 2015, the Institute’s Vice President (operations) for the last four years.
The Polymer Institute of Nigeria was established by the company act of 1968 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in August, 1991 though the Polymer Institute of Nigeria had been in existence since July, 1989.
It promotes, advance and develop the application of Polymer Science, Engineering and Technology in the Polymer and allied industries in Nigeria and acts as a Professional body for prescribing a standard of experience and efficiency in the research and education in all facet of Polymer Science, Engineering and Technology.
