What is ABU cut off Mark? The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is the federal agency saddled with the responsibility of setting the cut off Mark for admission into all the Federal Universities, State Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, and Monotechnics in Nigeria but all the institutions are also allowed to make personal decisions.

The Abu Cut off mark is the agreed score set by Ahmadu Bello University Zaria as a basis of admitting students into the department of study.  This score is usually accredited to candidates based on their performance in a particular examination. However, students who have scored above the required ABU cut off mark will be given admission and preferentially treated in the admission process above those who have met the exacts ABU cut off mark.

What is ABU Cut Off mark?

What is the ABU Zaria cut off mark for admission into various departments and Faculties? That is the question applicants ask everyday. Below is an attempt to answer that in the simplest language possible.

The Ahmadu Bello University Zaria does not really have a specific cut off mark for individual courses. However, candidates who have scored a minimum of 180 in the UTME examination are eligible to apply for admission into any of their choice courses.

Due to the high number of candidates aspiring to study at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, the admission process is very competitive and admission is given based on JAMB score, Post UTME, and Olevel grades.

ABU Zaria Admission Screening – PUTME

The Ahmadu Bello University Zaria holds her admission screening exercises / post utme within a week or a couple of weeks and it usually comes in two phases. Students who applied to study in the school are to proceed for the pre-screening exercise and post UTME exams which is very crucial to the admission process. No matter your UTME Score, if your post UTME has fallen below standards, it is believed that you cheated in the UTME in itself and can not be submitted.

In the other way round, if your UTME scores are not very high and you just barely met the ABU cut off Mark but performs excellently well in the post UTME, you have improved your chances of an ABU Admission and may possibly be considered for admission ahead of those who outscored you in UTME

Documents required for the pre-screening exercise are: SSCE result and JAMB registration print out and writing materials.

The second phase of the screening is after the admission lists might have been released. Candidates who have merited the admission will be invited for another screening exercise before you are issued an admission letter and allowed to proceed with registration.

Here all documents such as; Original copies of their educational qualifications (Statements of Results/Certificates). Birth Certification/Age Declaration, Certificate of Local Government of origin; and this notification of admission status slip will be physically checked.
