NUC Approves Immediate Closure of All Universities for A month

The National Universities Commission -NUC has released an official circular directing all universities in the country to closed for at least one month starting from Monday 23th March 2020.

The release which is dated today Friday, 20th March 2020 and signed by the Deputy Executive Secretary (Academics), Dr. Suleiman Ramson-Yusuf was addressed to all vice-chancellors of Nigeria Universities.

It reads; “I write at the behest of the executive secretary to inform the vice-chancellors of all Nigerian universities that as part of measures to curtail and prevent the spread of coronavirus (Covid 19) throughout the country, approval has been granted for the closure of all universities for a period of one (1) month beginning from Monday 23rd march 2020.

“Consequently, all universities shall be closed for one month beginning from 23rd March 2020.

The statement further directed all university vice-chancellors to ensure immediate compliance.
