Mustapha Bulama, also known as Bulama, is a Self-Taught, Award-winning Political Cartoonist and Illustrator, A distinguished Abusite, An activist and a social media influencer. He is by far one of the most talented Cartoonist on the continent

“I never had a formal training in art; it started as a hubby right from childhood.  Although I was the pioneering cartoonist of Daily Trust Newspaper in 2000, I never chose to be a professional artist.”

“I obtained a B.sc in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, and while I was waiting to be enrolled in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), a friend of mine who was a columnist at a local newspaper requested for an illustration from me to go with his article.”

“My political cartoons which I am mostly known for are published in Daily Trust Newspaper weekend editions. They mostly portray our shortcomings as a country and people in various aspects of life like politics, security, economy, and other social life. The objective of my cartoons is to bring our problems to the fore in the simplest way in other to widen the discourse and hopefully find and implement solutions.”
