FUTMINNA COUNCIL APPOINTS ABU ZARIA ALUMNA, MRS YUNANA HADIZA GARBA AS SUBSTANTIVE BURSAR

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Minna has appointed Mrs. Yunana Hadiza Garba as bursar of the institution.
According to a letter released on Thursday, October 22, 2020, and signed by the Registrar of the University, Mr. Amos Nmadu Kolo revealed that the appointment is with effect from Thursday, October 22, 2020.
The statement reads in part:
“I am delighted to inform you that the Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Minna at its 141st (Special) meeting held on Thursday, October 22, 2020, has approved your appointment as substantive Bursar with effect from October 22, 2020”, the letter stated.

The appointment is for a single term of five years.
The financial czar started her working experience as an Accountant with Tabigo Nigeria Limited, Abuja immediately after her National Youth Service before joining the service of the University in 2007 as an Auditor I in the Internal Audit Unit.
She was later redeployed to the Bursary Department in 2009 as an Accountant I Officer and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Accountant in 2016.
Mrs. Garba who was born on July 2, 1975, in Kaduna is an indigene of Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State. She attended Labayi International Primary School, Kaduna from 1981 to 1983.
She was also at CAS Staff School, Kaduna between 1984 to 1986. She also attended the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha before rounding off her secondary education at the famous United Faith Tabernacle College, Jos in 1993.
Mrs. Garba is an alumna of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where she bagged her BS.c. degree in Accounting in the year 2000. In 2010, she obtained her MSc. Degree (Accounting and Finance) from the same University. She also holds a PGD in Maths Computer Science (Upper Credit) from the Federal University of Technology, Minna in 2004.
Mrs Yunana Hadiza Garba is a Fellow of Chartered National Accountant, Fellow Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and a member of other notable professional bodies in Nigeria and abroad.
She has served in virtually all Units in the Bursary Department of the University with impeccable records of excellent performance to her credit. She is a recipient of several meritorious awards in recognition of her hard work, dedication to duty, and selfless service to the University and Nigeria at large.
