ABU Zaria wins national moot & mock trial competition

Ahmadu Bello University Zaria has emerged overall best at the just concluded national moot & mock trial spearheaded by the Legal Bridge Initiative.

The competition which began in the wake of the second semester had three teams from ABU Zaria in the preliminary rounds held at the Moot Court, Kongo.

Team Oasis, with a brilliant quintuple team of Aliyu Amira Habiba, 300L; Ibrahim Fatika, 400L; Ahmodu Qoyum Biodun, 400L; Musa Okikola Zubair, 400L and Suleiman Sadiq, 400L, emerged the representatives of the university having scored the highest points in the preliminary rounds.

According to a press release signed by the Council of Principal Partners Media Team, ABU Zaria, the final round was held in Abuja on Saturday, the 4th Day of December, 2021.

The University of Calabar and Ebonyi State University emerged 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Recall that Ahmadu Bello University Zaria had earlier won the 2019 edition of the Annual National Moot Court Competition organised by the Law Students Association of Nigeria beating University of Maiduguri at knock out stage, Bayero University Kano at semi finals and University of Calabar at the finals.

The competition took place at ABU, Zaria between the 10th and 11th of July, 2019. With ABU emerging as the best in both oral and Memorial assessments thereby winning both trophies.

The university was represented at the finals by Oliver Gift Chukkol, Shehu Abdulwaheed Adisa, M.A Agboola and Mustapha Abubakar. Yemi Adekunle.
