ABU Zaria honours 117 staff today for outstanding performance [Full List]

A total of 117 staff and units of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria will today (Wednesday, 24 January, 2024) receive various categories of awards for their outstanding contributions to the objectives of the University and to national and international developments.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, will present the awards by 2pm at the University Assembly Hall.

Their nominations were contained in a report of the University Reward and Recognition System Committee submitted to the University Management yesterday (Monday, 22 January, 2024).

It would be recalled that the Vice-Chancellor approved the setting up of the Committee on 14 December, 2023 to institute a reward and special recognition system for staff members in general, and those who occupy positions of authority in the management of the University.

The seven-member Committee chaired by Prof. Sani A. Abdullahi of the Department of Finance recommended 34 different categories of reward and recognition for staff and service units of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor, who received the report alongside Management staff of the University, thanked members of the Committee for the thorough job and assured that they would look into the Committee’s recommendations with a view to implementing them.
