ABU Zaria Disowned “Buhari Integrity Award” presented to Gov. Hope Uzodinma
The management of Ahmadu Bello University(ABU) Zaria has disowned the “President Buhari Integrity Award” purportedly presented to the Executive Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma for “Displaying integrity in good governance”.
The university also denies inducting the governor into the “President Buhari Integrity Hall of fame”.
In a statement signed by the registrar of the university, Mr. A. A. Kundinla, the University disassociates itself from such development saying it had no knowledge nor endorsement of the event in the first.
The statement reads, “The attention of Amadu Bello University Zaria has been drawn to the purported induction of his excellency, the executive governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma into the ‘President Buhari Integrity Hall of Fame’ for ‘displaying integrity in good governance, an event claimed to have been put together by the center for historical documentation and research, Arewa House, Ahmadu Bello University.
“To this end, therefore, the University and Arewa House hereby disassociate themselves from such development as they had no prior knowledge nor endorsement of such event in the first place.”
The statement adds that this, however, is by no means intended to discredit the person of his excellency, Governor Hope Uzodinma, or the government and people of Imo state.
Recall that the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, was at the weekend, reported to have been inducted into the “President Muhammadu Buhari’s Integrity Hall of Fame.”

At the event which took place at the Mbakwe Executive Council Chambers of the Government House, Owerri, the Director of Arewa Hall of Fame, Prof. Ibrahim Muhammed, who presided over the ceremony, described Uzodinma as “champion of change and integrity.”
The event was also attended by the leader of the Arewa Hall of Fame, Alhaji Salmon Salami, and other members of the team.
The team claimed that the governor’s “induction” followed the recommendation of the Research and Documentation Section of the Arewa House, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Neither the Director of Arewa House, Dr. ALIYU Shuaibu Shehu nor the Vice-Chancellor or any other management staff of the university was present at the event.
