ABU Vice-Chancellor approves 10 new appointments and 16 reappointments
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, has approved the appointments and re-appointment of Deans, Deputy Deans, and Heads of Departments as follows:
- Prof. Maryam Aminu, appointed as Dean of Life Sciences with effect from 14th April, 2023.
- Prof. Musa Idris, appointed as Dean of Administration with effect from 14th April, 2023.
- Prof. Abdullahi Abubakar, appointed as Dean of Environmental Design with effect from 13th April, 2023.
- Dr. Yahaya Abbas Aliyu, appointed as Deputy Dean Environmental Design with effect from 13th April, 2023.
- Prof. Ibrahim Madu Gazama, appointed as Deputy Dean of Life Sciences with effect from 14th April, 2023.
- Dr. Gidado Lawal Likko, appointed as Assistant Dean (Undergraduate), Faculty of Education with effect from 18th April, 2023.
- Prof. Oseni Yusuf appointed as Head, Department of Agricultural Economics with effect from 27th March, 2023.
- Dr. Muhammad M. Bala, appointed as Head, Department of Vocational and Technical Education with effect from 31st March, 2023.
- Prof. Ladi Lydia Yakubu (Mrs.), appointed as Head, Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development with effect from 18th April, 2023.
- Prof. Henry E. Igbadun, appointed as Head, Department of Agricultural and Bio-Resources Engineering with effect from 18th April, 2023.
Re-appointments
- Prof. I.A. Mohammed Dabo, re-appointed as Dean, Faculty of Engineering with effect from 26th March, 2023.
- Prof. Haladu Isa Bayero, re-appointed as Dean, Faculty of Education with effect from 18th April, 2023.
- Dr. Adinoyi Abdulfatai Muraina re-appointed as Deputy Dean Engineering with effect from 26th March, 2023.
- Prof. (Mrs.) Mariam Adekunle Suleiman, re-appointed as Deputy Dean, Faculty of Education with effect from 18th April, 2023.
- Prof. Abdulkadir Adamu, re-appointed as Head, Department of History with effect from 19th February, 2023.
- Dr. (Mrs) Mariam Ahmad Abubakar, re-appointed as Head, Department of Home Economics.
Each appointment/reappointment is for a period of two years, and is in recognition of administrative and academic leadership qualities.
The Vice-Chancellor urged them to always be honest in all their official dealings, and work hard towards the improvement of the University.
