ABU seeks FG’s support towards digital capacity building

The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Kabir Bala, has requested more understanding and support from the federal government to the institution towards digital capacity building.

The vice-chancellor made the request earlier today when he paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, in Abuja.

The visit, according to the vice-chancellor, was part of efforts by the University to fully connect with all its key stakeholders within and outside the country with a view to repositioning the institution for better performance.

Prof Bala acknowledged with immense appreciation the Minister’s tremendous support to the University, especially in the area of digital development.

He, however, urged the Minister for more understanding and support to the institution towards digital capacity building.

Receiving the Vice-Chancellor and his entourage in his office, the Minister thanked Prof Bala and his team for the courtesy call and pledged to visit ABU in no distant future to see things for himself.

Those on the Vice-Chancellor’s entourage included the Registrar, Malam A A Kundila; the Director, Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IAIICT), Prof Balarabe Junaid Sahalu.

Others include Director, Directorate of University Advancement, Prof Ahmed D Ibrahim; Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Malam Auwalu Yusuf Muhammad; and Malam Musa Aliyu of the University Council Affairs Department.
