ABU Library Launches New Telegram Channel for students

The Management of Ahmadu Bello University Library Complex (ABULC) has launched the ABU library telegram group specifically for staff and students of the University.

In its message circulated to the staff of the ABU Library Complex, the management states that the decision is to enable the library to still reach out to its users by sharing and assisting them to make use of online information resources for their research work effectively.

The statement further directed all staff of the library to join the library telegram group, where students will be requesting information resources. Staff are required to assist students from their department that may need resources.

The statement reads, “As you observe all the practices that the Federal Government recommended to keep you and your loved ones safe from COVID 19 Pandemic, remember that we can still reach out to our users by sharing and assisting them to make use of online information resources for their research work effectively.

“You are requested to join the library telegram group, where students will be requesting information resources. If a student from your department needs resources, we expect you to attend to them online. If you have challenges you can reach out for assistance.

The statement advised students to make the best out of this challenging time by utilizing the opportunity to catch up on their lectures and assignments.

The ABU Library Complex comprises the main Kashim Ibrahim Library located in the Main Campus, Samaru, a three-story building with dozens of offices, departments, sections, units, etc. This houses the various administrative, financial, technical, and other staff, as well as resources repositories and others.

The Complex also has under it several special satellite libraries/branches found in various sections of the University, in the Main Campus, Kongo Campus, Teaching Hospital, and other Centers and Divisions of the University, including those outside Zaria, like the SBRS Funtua, Arewa House Kaduna, etc.

The ABU Library Complex also comprises departmental and faculty satellite libraries in almost every department and faculty in all the Campuses and sub-divisions of the University.

These are also generally set up in such a way as to reflect the needs of the specific departmental staff and students, based on the fields of the study found there.
